Built in 1792, the history of Albion House, Ramsgate is rich and colourful. Those who have stayed in the magnificent bedrooms include Princess Victoria shortly before she was crowned Queen.
In 1940, thousands of soldiers disembarked at Ramsgate after escaping from the beaches of Dunkirk, and Ramsgate is proud to be part of the annual commemoration of that event, welcoming the ‘Little Ships’ when they make their pilgrimage across the channel to remember the courage of those who made the journey during the Second World War.

A Journey to Restore Albion House's Features and Characters
The many original features of this magnificent building built in 1792 have been maintained or restored during the sensitive 2014 refurbishment. The return of Albion House, Ramsgate to all its majesty has seen the introduction of Italian Carrara marble bathrooms, renewed sash windows, exquisite furnishings and the original cornices remoulded and replaced.
Watch the magnificent sun rising and setting from Albion House. This is a place where artists came to paint – both Turner and Van Gogh have famously painted in this area, the extraordinary light in this small part of the world drawing their attention.
